Sermon Series: Joy Unchained - The Book of Philippians
“Learning, Thinking, Doing”
Philippians 4:8-23
 
A. A disciple of Jesus lets their faith impact their attitude and behavior. (4:4-9)
Paul was teaching them to:
1. Be joyful always
2. Be gracious and loving toward all
3. Pray about everything
4. Guard your thoughts and attitudes
5. Live your life based on what you’ve been taught
 
B. A Personal Conclusion by Paul (4:10-20)
1. Paul’s life is a combination of his own personal growth and his interconnection with his friends.
2. The Secret of Contentment (v.11-13)
3. Giving is worship and rewarded by God. (v.14-20)
 
C. Paul concludes the letter as he started it - recognizing valued relationships and reminding everyone of the Grace of God. (4:21-23)
 
APPLICATION:
* Exterior circumstances don’t decrease joy, contentment and peace if you live “in Christ”.
